Trick for easier gearbox installation
One trick I've learned is to put a piece of 1/2 conduit between
the trans and the frame. It supports the trans and makes it much
easier to move. Then I jack up the engine (2 x 4 between the
jack and oil pan) to where the shaft lines up with the clutch.
This way the trans is never hanging by the shaft and once it's
in position the conduit lets the trans roll right in.
Hope this helps,
Jim
